| Description: |
10th anniversary of this closing ceremony to mark the end of Hastings Weeks.
Somewhere in between a service and a concert, this is an eclectic mix of poetry, music and readings all in celebration of Hastings town and its' people. Also, commemorating the Battle of Hastings, the Lord's Prayer is spoken in Anglo-Saxon as Harold and his men would have known it. There will be a talk about the Bayeaux Tapestry, lighing of candles for peace and a joining together in song singing Jersualem!
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be attendance and Revd. Mat Phipps will lead the proceedings.
Starts at 4.30pm at the beautiful St Clements Church in Hastings old town.
